Most OE automotive plastic coolant expansion tanks are renowned for deteriorating and degrading over time, with the plastic material that the tanks are constructed from become brittle and weakened due to the multiple heat and pressure cycles that the coolant system experiences. The OE plastic Lotus S2 Coolant Expansion Tank is no exception, with the deterioration being more pronounced due to the more noticeable exposure to sunlight in the Lotus engine bay.

The Pro Alloy High Capacity Coolant Expansion tank solves these issue with its all-Aluminium, hand crafted and precision TIG welded construction offering a significantly more robust and durable solution.

In addition to this, the skilled craftsman at Pro Alloy have design the tank to fit into exactly the same location, and mount utilising all of the OE fixing points and connect utilising all of the standard hoses, but with the benefit of a large increase in coolant capacity, with almost double the volume of the OE unit – This additional capacity and expansion volume within the tank can offer significant benefits for track and race cars and vehicles used in hot climates.
